Global platforms

The UN Global Platform for Disaster Reduction was established in 2007 as a biennial forum for information exchange, discussion of latest development and knowledge and partnership building across sectors, with the goal to improve implementation of disaster risk reduction through better communication and coordination amongst stakeholders. It is organized by UNISDR, the UN's office for disaster risk reduction and secretariat of the International Strategy for Disaster Reduction.

It provides an important opportunity for GNDR to share the views of our members around the world as we seek to influence international and national thinking on policies, frameworks and turning words into action that will impact the communities with which GNDR members work. Find out more about the UN Global Platform.
