Amigos del Viento celebrated the IDDR2015 with the launch of the book titled "Conocimiento para la vida" (Knowledge for Life), presenting a collection of stories shared by grandparents with their grandchildren.

In the context of the International Day for Disaster Reduction 2015, Amigos del Viento celebrated this day with the launch of the Community Book "Conocimiento para la Vida".

Throughout the year we have shared stories transmitted from grandparents to grandchildren. The recreation of those stories through artistic expressions has been the excuse to identify how people and communities are reducing their risk to disasters, and increasing the awareness of the importance of DRR.

"That day it rained like it never did before, the stream didn't give way and we knew that crossing it was a risk that we could not take" - tells María in the book. Dozens of real stories like this are the excuse to dig, discern and advance in building together a culture of prevention.

The launch took place in workshops in Colonia del Sacramento, Conchillas and Ombúes de Lavalle, in the Department of Colonia, which were facilitated by the teacher Lyda Martin Cuttinella, from Amigos del Viento.
