“As Network Development Manager, I am responsible for all strategic decisions concerning membership, including building the capacity of the network and network members, membership growth, membership categories and data management, fostering alliances and partnerships and strengthening GNDR's governance structures (including the relationship with Board members, Trustees and Regional Advisory Groups). I am also the line-manager of the Regional Development Coordinators and oversee our activities in the regions.”
Emma's last role was with the Commonwealth Secretariat, where she managed the organisation's network of civil society partners, including accreditation of partners, developing a capacity-building programme, brokering partnerships with civil society and opening up political spaces to civil society engagement, including Ministerial Meetings and the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. In the past she has worked for Transparency International UK and for three years in Bogota, Colombia with the British Embassy and British Council. She has a Master's in Development Studies from SOAS and is fluent in Spanish, with a side-portion of French and a spattering of German and Urdu.
