Becky is currently ActionAid International’s Global Resilience Adviser.
She has spent the past 10 years working for international organisations on humanitarian programming and policy, with a specific technical focus on disaster risk reduction and resilience in humanitarian contexts. Here she has spent time working in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Colombia, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Myanmar, Palestine, and The Philippines. Becky has a specific focus on women led resilience and tacking gender inequality as a driver of risk. She is an advocate for women’s rights and sits on UNDRR’s stakeholder engagement mechanism supporting the UN Women’s Major Group on DRR. She also sits on the British Research Council’s Global Challenge Fund’s (GCRF) review panel for research into resilience and social protection with a focus on aligning efforts on resilience building across academia, policy making and practice.
