  • The Global Network of Civil Society Organisations for Disaster Reduction (GNDR) is the largest international network of civil society organisations that work to strengthen resilience and reduce disaster risks in communities worldwide
  • GNDR represents and convenes these organisations in international spaces for Sendai framework implementation, making sure that their voices are heard
  • Has more than 750+ full member organisations, spread across 107 countries
  • Has a longstanding relationship and collaborates closely with UNISDR, and formal partnership agreements to collaborate with the EU in humanitarian and development matters
  • Through its ECOSOC Special Consultative status, GNDR and its members can formally participate in all formal UN processes – among these the High Level Political Forum for Sustainable Development through the Sendai Stakeholders Group
  • GNDR is also an organising partner for UNISDR world and regional conferences and platforms, which further secures that the voices of civil society are brought to the highest possible level in the UN system
  • The GNDR Flagship programme ‘Views from the Frontline’ (VFL) has mobilised over 500 organisations, and reached out to approximately 95,000 stakeholders in communities in 69 countries, monitoring the progress of international disaster risk reduction efforts at a local level
  • GNDR receives funding mainly from national governments and the EU, and a large part of the projects are carried out in collaboration with its member organisations
