MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
To oversee the financial affairs of GNDR (circa £1.0 million PA)
Position in Organisation:
- Reports to the Executive Director (GNDR)
- Support and provision of finance information to GNDR business team, Global Board, Finance Subcommittee and Board of Trustees
- External liaison with Payroll Bureau, banks, HMRC, Company House, Charity Commission, pension advisers, insurance brokers, donors, and other GNDR partners
Scope of Job:
- Programme accounting
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Project accounting
- Financial monitoring and control
- Preparation of interim and annual statutory accounts and reports for legislative bodies and donors (e.g. Charities Commission, European Commission, USAID)
- Assist in the preparation of fundraising proposal
- Submission of grant drawdown requests
- Bank account management and reconciliation
- Income and expenditure processing
- Arrangement of annual audit and liaison with auditors
Duties and Key Responsibilities:
Management Accounting and Budgeting
- Producing monthly income and expenditure reports
- Producing monthly variance reports and forecasts
- Provide GNDR management team with regular updates to management team
- Managing and forecasting cash flows
- Producing annual operational budget together with budgets by donor
Financial Accounting
- Ensure statutory accounts are produced according to relevant legislation
- Preparation of accounts in accordance with relevant accounting standards for statutory audit
- Liaison with statutory auditor and follow up of audit report
Book Keeping
- Accounts set up on an accounting software package
- Responsible for the bank accounts, petty cash accounts and monthly reconciliations
- Making payments and following up queries
- Liaison with Payroll Bureau as necessary
- Liaison with pension fund advisers & insurance providers as necessary
Project Cycle Management
- Produce budgets and support preparation of donor funding proposals
- Tracking of donor contract expenditure and timely preparation of donor reports as per specific donor contracts
- Preparing grant drawdown requests
- Overseeing institutional donor audits
Systems and Procedures
- Preparing and developing policies and procedures
- Ensuring proper financial controls are in place
- Monitoring visits as required
Treasury Management
- Make arrangements to open new bank accounts as agreed by Directors
- Match income to expenditure to minimize the risk of exchange losses
- Consider other options to minimize foreign exchange risk, e.g. hedging, etc.
- Manage GNDR financial reserves / contingencies
Global Board Matters
- Quarterly finance reports
- Participation in quarterly meetings
- Prepare papers for finance committee meetings, attend & take minutes
Board of Trustee Matters
- Prepare agenda and papers and participate in 6 monthly meetings
- Legal responsibilities re Trustee registration, declarations of interest etc.

POST OF: GNDR Finance Manager
BASED IN: GNDR Global Hub Office. Teddington, South West London, UK
OFFICE HOURS:
35 hour working week within the office hours of Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm with one hour for lunch
ANNUAL LEAVE - FULL YEAR:
25 days pro-rata
+ Statutory Bank Holidays
+ Additional days at Christmas

SALARY BAND:
£42,969 – 49,415
