It is based in the territory of the Republic of Honduras, but with an emphasis on the border areas of the Western Region of the country. We work in development processes and to strengthen sustainable processes in conjunction with other agencies, for the benefit of the most vulnerable population.
ASONOG emerged in the mid 80's as an initiative to coordinate efforts of a group of organizations working with refugees in the border areas of the west of the country. Our aim is to support policy advocacy processes of development in the country with the participation of the poor and people traditionally excluded from procersses, working from local, municipal, departmental, national and international levels, by generating participatory processes of organization, coordination, management and implementation of programs and projects; and by coordinating efforts and resources on integral and sustainable development that are implemented in different geographical and thematic areas where the Association is present. Additionally, we have our own independence in the implementation of programs and projects, respecting and recognizing the autonomy of its affiliated organizations.
