13-17 May 2019
Geneva, Switzerland

We’re participating in this year’s Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction, organised by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR). Here's an outline of the key events we’re involved in.

Throughout the Global Platform we’ll be advocating for a REAL resilience dividend – one that is based on Rights, that Empowers communities, holds everyone Accountable, and Leaves no one behind.

If you’re attending the Global Platform, come and meet us and get involved. You can also keep up-to-date with our activities in Geneva next week by following us on Twitter.

What is the 2019 Global Platform?

The Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction is a biennial multi-stakeholder forum established by the UN General Assembly to review progress, share knowledge and discuss the latest developments and trends in reducing disaster risk.

How is GNDR involved?

Stakeholder Forum

Monday 13 May & Tuesday 14 May
CICG

An opportunity for stakeholders to coordinate and exchange experiences on best practice around inclusion, collaboration and engagement, in preparation for the official sessions of the Global Platform. Discussions will focus on effective collaboration and how the newly-launched UNDRR Stakeholder Engagement Mechanism will work, as well as support the implementation of the Sendai Framework in coherence with the other 2030 Agendas. Global Platform participants will get the first glimpse of our digital data and find out what communities in their country have to say. We’ll also have two 360-degree virtual reality videos allowing people to see directly the impact of disasters in Senegal and Chile right now. Full details.
