As part of the CBDRM programme, 24 representatives from selected case studies across Africa (West, Central, Eastern and Southern Africa) gathered in Saly near Dakar, Senegal, on 25 and 26 April to identify and discuss the success factors concerning the institutionalisation and sustainability of CBDRM in their communities.
The workshop was organised by GNDR’s partner ENDA ENERGIE in collaboration with our national CBDRM partners JVE Niger and Réseau MARP Burkina and set out to review the common success factors brought forward by participants. Its main objectives were to:
● Identify key success factors of sustainable CBDRM.
● Identify ways in which sustainable CBDRM can be scaled out and institutionalized.
● Share knowledge and experiences of CBDRM.
Following this 2-day workshop, participants seemed to appreciate the opportunity given to share knowledge and best practices in community-based resilience. The result was a list of success factors that will be shared with other regions to increase learning worldwide.
