A new Regional Network was born in America, the American Regional Inclusive Risk Management on Disabilities Network aims to unite the American Region to go Inclusive deep into Disaster Risk Management.
Asia Pacific Regional Network was a great inspiration to carry out this new great task: to be united, sharing knowledge, networking, promoting good practices and to have our culture and voices represented on this field as valid actors in the world.
The meeting organized by the Ecuadorian Technical Secretariat for Inclusive Disability Management (SETEDIS), Security Coordinator's Office and the Department of Risk Management, with support from the Integrated Service ECU 911, the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR), and the support of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR), and Inclusiva, convened 26 experts from three continents.
Valerie Schrerrer (CBM), Hiroshi Kawamura (ATDO), Dr. Armando Vásquez (PAHO/ WHO), Mr. Ricardo Mena (UNISDR for the Americas) were among the great international experts.
The American Regional Inclusive Risk Management on Disabilities Network aims to learn from the Asia Pacific Region, they have performed great projects, initiatives and have collaborated with UN agencies.
Our continent and region have good practices on Inclusive Risk Management, but we need to work together.
A community base approach and people centered products and projects are key aspects of the new born network.
The American Regional Inclusive Risk Management on Disabilities Network seeks to collaborate with the region governments, international agencies.
