It is the first conference of its kind and aims to hold discussions towards reshaping aid and the way we work in humanitarian contexts. The priority discussion areas have been outlined in the Secretary General’s report and include political leadership to prevent and end conflicts, upholding the norms that safeguard humanity, leave no one behind, delivering aid to ending need, and investing in humanity. These emerged after 2 years of consultations with stakeholders around the world, online debates, and consolidation meetings held by UNOCHA amongst others.
The main Summit programme will include High-Level Leaders' Roundtables on priority areas; Special Sessions on specific thematic areas; and a plenary for Member States and other stakeholders to announce action commitments. But there will also be 100 side events on lots of interesting themes.
