The second video gives an overview of budgeting, planning, implementation and evaluation
and its relation to organisational or project’s objectives.
In the third video participants will learn how to plan and put together an effective budget. They will also learn about budget codes, unit costs, notes, contingencies and overheads.
The fourth video shows participants how to monitor the budget and the tools associated with the process. They will also learn about the importance of financial/management reports for decision making and communication with donors.
In the fifth video participants will learn to relate financial management to donor rules and regulations. In particular what can and cannot be included in a budget for donors and the importance of financial information when communicating with donors.
The sixth video shows participants how to use a donor funding grid to put a budget together when working with one or multiple donors. Participants will also learn about restricted and unrestricted funding.
In the seventh video participants will learn what cash flow management is. They will also learn how to use cash flow management to inform decisions related to activities, salaries, etc
The final video of the series shows different approaches to strengthening financial management capacity within an organisation including linking finance staff to non finance staff and mentoring. Participants will also learn how written procedures and policies can strengthen the organisational capacity.
