Presented by Jair Torres, Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience International Consultant, GADRRRES, the webinar will focus on:

  • An overview of the activities of GADRRRES
  • Lessons learned from GADRRRES work and their members's work on safe schools and mainstreaming DRR in education
  • How GNDR members can engage with the organisation

About GADRRRES

GADRRRES is a platform that brings together UN agencies, NGOs, international and regional networks active in mainstreaming DRR in the education sector. It aims to strengthen coordination, increase knowledge and advocate around the Comprehensive School Safety framework.

This framework is an approach to reducing risks from all hazards to the education sector by addressing three pillars of school safety:

  1. Safe learning facilities
  2. School disaster management
  3. Risk reduction and resilience education

Members of the Alliance work together to advance the school safety agenda. They support the Worldwide Initiative for Safe Schools (WISS), a government-led partnership that aim to secure political commitment for safe schools globally.
