GNDR members presence at the COP21 in Paris [30th November - 11th December 2015] is strong. Some are part of government delegations and many have organised sessions. Below are just a sample of some of the exciting activities undertaken by our members in Paris.
Different ACT Climate Ambassadors will be present at COP21 to have meetings with delegation leaders and several state delegations have ACT Alliance participation. We highlight 4 events ACT Alliance is involved at COP21.
The Joint Initiative for Advocacy in Disaster Risk Reduction in Madagascar, ICPM (Initiative Commune de Plaidoyer pour la Réduction des Risques des Catastrophes à Madagascar), along with the Madagascar delegation will be running and contributing to many events during the COP21, including a side event on REDD+ at the interface of biodiversity, climate change and human right; a side event on Incentivized, participatory approach to mangrove conservation in Madagascar; and…
ACCRA is organising many events at COP21. We highlight two: “Success of Climate and Development - Adaptation in LDCs” & “Our Futures: young people’s experience of climate change impacts and solutions”.
This session will discuss the link between nutrition and climate change and the need for this to recognised in the climate change agreement and for finance to be sufficiently mobilised.
Children are vulnerable to climate change, but they are also agents of positive change. Children have a right to be heard, their voices are important in all decisions concerning our climate, and their future. The side event will explore the unique capacity children have to create change.
