Strengthening Collaboration Capacities for Resilience

Strengthening Collaboration Capacities for Resilience is a 3-year, GIZ-funded project which aims to enhance collaboration capabilities of civil society and cooperation with other stakeholders, as outlined in Objective 2 of GNDR’s 2016-2020 Strategy.

Rumana Kabir (Chair)

Independent Consultant Rumana Kabir has a long track record as a development practitioner with a background in architecture and broad experience of working globally in conflict, emergency and development contexts. She has led disaster risk governance projects and undertaken many needs and capacity assessments, and designed programme strategies for various UN agencies, as well as for local and international NGOs, the private sector, academia, the government and international donors. Rumana brings considerable expertise in the UK charity sector, in particular as a former trustee for RedR UK, a UK-based NGO specialised in training and developing skills for disaster risk relief. As the Chairperson of Trustees of GNDR, Rumana is keen to bring the realities of the people who are faced with disasters into global and regional policies and strategies on disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation.
