South Asia Disaster Report 2016 launch: Building Back Better

GNDR member Duryog Nyvaran, a research, training and advocacy network tackling disaster reduction in South Asia, launched its South Asia Disaster Report (SADR) 2016 during GNDR’s South Asian regional workshop hosted by NSET in Kathmandu on 21st December 2017.

Youth responded strongly to the Nepal earthquake

GNDR member FAYA Nepal (Forum for Awareness and Youth Activity) sent us a report to share with you that shows how the communities and the youth in particular responded to the challenge of the devastating earthquake in Nepal in April 2015. Their goal was to provide inmediate relief and food security, transitional shelter, drinking water, sanitation and hygiene, as well as community based psycho-social counselling to those affected by the disaster.

Good Practice Review launch

Coinciding with the International Day for Disaster Reduction (IDDR2015) on 13th October 2015, Dr John Twigg launched his revised edition of the Good Practice Review (GPR) for Disaster Risk Reduction microsite, with the support of the Humanitarian Practice Network (HPN).
